Mercantile Local began during our family's journey toward making more intentional choices about the food, products, and ingredients we bring into our home.
Managing chronic migraines, food sensitivities, and health challenges led us to start paying much closer attention to sourcing, ingredients, and everyday consumption.
As we searched for cleaner foods, local products, and trusted producers, we realized something surprising:
Lake Country already had an incredible network of farms, makers, bakers, growers, and small businesses. They just weren't easy to find.
We started by looking for better food. We discovered a much bigger problem — and Mercantile Local was created to bridge it: one place for neighbors to discover the people producing real goods and services close to home.
Mercantile Local helps connect neighbors with the farms, makers, artisans, and local businesses already serving our communities.
The platform is designed to make local discovery simpler, more visible, and more connected through a modern, community-centered experience.
Amazing local businesses already exist. Finding them shouldn't require knowing the right Facebook group or driving past the right roadside sign.
When neighbors buy local, more money stays in the community. Families get fresher food, handmade goods and real relationships with the people behind them — and small businesses get found without big advertising budgets.
